About the 2018 Competion
Undergraduate Students in Universities linked to the IFEH as Academic Members or through the local IFEH Member Association were invited to submit a 2000-3000 Word Essay and accompanying power-point presentation.
The winning essay as any other entries may be published through the IFEH website and Journal if the IFEH so chooses.
“Global Food Safety and Sustainability”
Discuss and critically appraise the aims to support the provision of safe food, to make use of precious water & nutrient resources, and for communities to increasingly value sustainable food production.
Identify the issues, possible impacts and propose a workable solution.
It may be local issues in your geographical area that have already been managed, in which case you should also evaluate the effectiveness of any solution and whether it could be extended beyond your local area.
Think Local – Act Global.
Relevance to Global Food Safety and Sustainability; Environmental Health; and your geographical area will be critical. Appropriate referencing is also expected to support your submission.
The winning entry was invited to receive the Roy Emerson Award and present the essay at the IFEH Academic World Conference in Kampala, Uganda from 9th - 11th April 2019. All expenses for travel and accommodation was paid by the Federation.

A panel of judges chaired by the IFEH President Selva Mudaly reviewed the Essays and Presentations and selected the Award Winner for the Roy Emerson Award 2018.
